International students [Jul. 28th, 2009|07:51 pm]
Hey guys I really need your help!
Are there any international students here that got into FIDM? It would be tons of help if you guys reply me.
I'm currently taking my A Levels but I want to apply for the merch&product development course in FIDM.
I'm superrr confused on the application process and all for international students.

Also, I've been researching alot online and some people say that I can learn as much taking merch courses in community colleges(for less) instead of FIDM?

Thanks so much!

I am a buyer for a major retailer and I went to FIDM and the only way to get into merchandising is to work your way up from the very bottom. Classes won't teach you anything but a degree always helps and it doesn't matter where you that degree from but going into debt for the price of FIDM isn't worth it.

The Merch and PD major at FIDM is awesome and I say that from first hand experience as a graduate of the program! If you have questions about the whole applying and registration process you should totally talk to an advisor at FIDM because they do have advisors who work with international students...and when it comes to other programs I looked into community schools too but none of them had the connections that FIDM has if you really wanted to work and get into the business straight out of graduating! The Alumni Association and Career Placement office there is awesome! You should definetely ask about it and talk to an advisor at the Career Center about the internship and jobs available because that really helped me out!You learn a lot and the teachers come straight from the industry so they have great advice too!

Hope that helps! :)
